WE BELIEVE
MISSIONS
Mission is about sharing the love of Christ with those outside the walls of our church. For us that means building ramps and repairing homes, feeding children on the weekends, growing food to share with the community, and helping those going through a hard time with financial assistance. It means taking opportunities to be out in our community helping others and sharing love and compassion. We also support many programs and organizations of Burleson, partnering to take care of the people in our community.
Are you ready to jump in and help? Fill out the form at the bottom of this page, email our Missions Coordinator, Lizz Bridges, at lizz@fumcburleson.org, or call our church office at 817-295-1166.
FEATURED EVENTS
FOOD PANTRY
The First Missions Food Pantry, in partnership with Tarrant Area Food Bank, provides canned and boxed food items to those in need in our local community.
HELPING HANDS
Helping Hands provides financial assistance on a case-by-case basis to people who find themselves in difficult or unexpected circumstances. Thanks to the support of church members and other donors, we are able to assist with rent, utility bills, car payments, and even medication costs.
PACMIN
PacMin (Backpack Ministry) provides assistance to K-12 students within the Burleson Independent School District who experience food insecurity at home. PacMin volunteers prepare food bags with non-perishable items each week to help feed these students during their time away from school.
BACKYARD MISSIONS
We believe in being the hands and feet of Christ. Our Backyard Missions team provides help with yard work and small-scale home repairs for church members and others in our community at large.
COMMUNITY GARDEN
Our Community Garden is a great gathering spot for people in our community – individuals, families, and small groups may request a plot at the beginning of each planting season. Participants tend to their own plots, learn gardening skills, and also help with the harvest.
